Summerland service

by isleofman.com 27th September 2006
The Lord Bishop feels the completion of demolition of the Summerland site is a perfect time to remember the fire of August 1973. The Right Reverend Graeme Knowles will preside over a service on the site, which begins at 2 o'clock tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon. It's open to the public and will be attended by the Lieutenant Governor, Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks and Lady Haddacks, members of Tynwald, representatives from the Clergy, Douglas Corporation and the emergency services. The Lord Bishop says the service will act as an opportunity to mark the passing of the site's old use to whatever the future holds for it:
