Julie Corkill trial to resume

by isleofman.com 27th September 2006
The trial of the wife of former chief minister Richard Corkill will resume this morning (Wednesday).

Julie Corkill (pictured) denies four charges of false accounting and two of obtaining money by deception, in connection with the payment of government grants towards tourist accommodation work at her family home, Ballacain in Onchan.

The trial was adjourned in July after key prosecution witness, builder Will Kelly of contractors GC Construction, suffered a heart attack.

Kelly admits a charge of aiding and abetting Mrs Corkill to produce a document required by the Department of Tourism and Leisure.
