Ethnic Minority talks

Four members of the Committee for Minority Ethnic Anglican concerns are visiting the Island

The committee, which was invited to the Island by the Lord Bishop (pictured), will meet members of government, church representatives and members of ethnic minority groups

In existence since 1989, the committee was set up following the "Faith in the City" report, when it was found there was alienation of black and Asian people, particularly within the church of England.

It now investigates the concerns of all minority groups.

The Reverend Mark Wolverson, an Anglican Priest and the clergy representative on the team, says they aim to identify what the situation is in each area they visit, then investigate how it can be improved, and the lessons which can be learnt:
