No planning permission for taxi firm

Ramsey Commissioners have voiced their disapproval after a taxi firm started operating in the town without permission.

The company, trading as Island Taxis, has opened a taxi office on the site of a former filling station on the junction of Approach Road and Waterloo Road.

And it's now submitted a retrospective planning application which the commissioners are opposing on the ground of noise and inconvenience.

George Skillicorn, commissioners lead member for works and development, says they’re opposed to a 24 hour operation being run:
