Success for Douglas in Britain in Bloom

Douglas is celebrating this morning (Friday) after winning a silver achievement award in Britain in Bloom.

The Island’s capital won the accolade in the large towns and small cities section of the contest at last night’s awards ceremony in Perth in Scotland.

It follows the success of Ramsey and Maughold in the competition in recent years.

Judge Jim Buttress praised the enthusiasm from the town’s community and said there were lots of positive initiatives.
