Walker sentenced

by isleofman.com 20th September 2006
A 32 year old man has been ordered to fulfil 200 hours community service by the High Bailiff.

Lee Cameron Walker of Loch Promenade, Douglas, appeared for sentence after admitting being concerned with the importation of cannabis resin and attempting to possess cannabis resin.

Police intercepted a parcel at the Post Office headquarters on August 10th. It was addressed to Walker and contained 25.2 grammes of cannabis resin, with a street value of ?71.

The defendant was arrested and admitted that he'd got his mother to post the parcel, but she was not aware of the contents. His advocate said the defendant was not looking to blame others, as the drug was for his own personal use, but that he was not a regular drug user.

Mr Moyle said the offences were premeditated.
