Educating the young about alcohol misuse

Teachers on the Isle of Man are better equipped than ever to educate children about the dangers of alcohol misuse.

The Department of Education’s Drug and Alcohol Liaison Officer, Orla McGlinchey, says there is now a much greater wealth of age-appropriate material available to them.

Teachers will also receive updated training on ways to present issues like how alcohol affects family dynamics and personal safety.

She says a number of the new methods have proved very popular with pupils:
