Taxi driver assaulted

A taxi driver was assaulted in an unprovoked attack in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sun).

The driver was in his Peugeot taxi outside the Isle of Man Bank in Port Erin at around 2:20am when a man opened the passenger door and assaulted him.

The taxi driver suffered numerous facial injuries.

The attacker is described as being in his twenties with black spiky hair and was wearing a white shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111, which may lead to a reward.
