Treasury reassured by census

by isleofman.com 16th September 2006
The Treasury Minister says he’s reassured by the latest census figures which show a rise in the Island’s population.

Statistics show it's increased to just under 80,000 – a rise of nearly 3,500 residents over the last five years.

Provisional results show the population on census night this year was 79,805 - 3,490 more than on census night in 2001.

Allan Bell (pictured) says the figure is based on the first input of census forms into the database and is likely to rise.
