Mystery virus hits wild birds

Concern is increasing amongst Island bird enthusiasts after a mystery virus which is affecting garden finches.

It’s reported in the UK the disease is spreading through Britain claiming the lives of hundreds of chaffinches, greenfinches and goldfinches.

Chris Sharpe of the Manx Bird Atlas says it’s best to stop feeding the birds for the next few weeks.
