Scott Henry McCabe of Kensington Avenue, Douglas, admitted possessing cannabis resin.

Stuart Peters reports:

Sergeant John Manley, prosecuting, said police with a warrant searched the defendant's property at 8.30am on June 15th.

They found 24.5 grammes of cannabis resin hidden in a sock.

McCabe, who was not present, attended police headquarters later and told them that the cannabis was for his own use.

The court was asked to consider an exclusion order. His advocate said that order was opposed. McCabe had been resident on the Island for five years, but Mr Moyle said he wanted proof of residency
