Callow jailed

A 20 year old man has been jailed by Deemster Doyle for a total of 12 months.

David Nicholas Callow of Mona Drive, Douglas, admitted supplying cannabis resin to another, supplying cannabis resin to a juvenile, possessing 76.4 grammes of cannabis resin with intent to supply, and possessing 12.2 grammes of cannabis bush which he said was for his own use.

Rachel Braidwood, prosecuting, said Callow was arrested in Douglas at 7.20pm on March 15th in a car with four others. He had cannabis bush in a pocket and the resin was found in a car.

The street value of the drugs was ?266.

Callow admitted that he supplied his close friends and the juvenile to fund his drug habit.

He was described by his advocate as being immature and naive. He had now given up drugs and didn't intend getting involved again.

Deemster Doyle described it as an "evil trade".
