Chief Minister on Blair's announcement

A shakeup in the United Kingdom government shouldn’t mean any disruption to the Isle of Man, its economy or politics.

So says Chief Minister Donald Gelling after Tony Blair’s announcement last night that he will be leaving Downing Street within twelve months.

Mr Gelling says Gordon Brown seems to be the favourite to take over the top job there, and the Island has dealt with both men through the British-Irish council.

As long as the handover is relatively peaceful, Mr Gelling (pictured) doesn’t predict it will cause us any problems:
