Aircraft safety record questioned

by isleofman.com 6th September 2006
The Celtic League says this week’s incident at Ronaldsway airport involving an RAF Hawk trainer aircraft highlights the plane’s shortcomings.

The pressure group describes the aircraft as ‘elderly’ and says its safety record leaves a lot to be desired.

It’s called for the RAF to release detailed information about how many Hawks have crashed over the years.

The plane that was forced to make an emergency landing remains in a hangar at Ronaldsway awaiting transportation to the United Kingdom.
