Suspected illegal immigrant arrested

Police have arrested a Chinese man on suspicion of illegal entry into the Isle of Man.

He was picked up last night at around 6pm at the Mandarin Chinese restaurant and take-away on Church Road, Port Erin.

The operation was carried out in co-operation with officers from the Immigration Department and the Department of Trade and Industry.

Immigration officers are carrying out further enquiries

The restaurant was closed for the evening pending work permit enquiries
