New child safety laws for Island?

The Isle of Man is set to fall into line with new road safety laws, being introduced in the United Kingdom next week.

They will make the use of child restraints in cars compulsory, rather than optional as at present, for children up to twelve years old or 135cm in height.

Tynwald will consider the laws later this year and, if passed, they will come into effect early in 2007.
