Expert recommends medical advice for STIs

If you think you might have a sexually transmitted infection, the advice is simple – have it checked out by doctors.

The message comes with the launch of the first home Chlamydia testing kit by high street retailer Boots.

The ?25 kit targets older people who aren’t regularly screened and who are too embarrassed to attend clinics.

But Director of Health Promotion, Lez Dorward, says testing here is very discreet and the kits may be out of the financial reach of young people who are most at risk (audio file attached):
