Firestation dispute comes to a head

It seems matters in an ongoing issue at Isle of Man Airport's firestation have come to a head.

Firemen there will only work standard rostered hours from this Friday.

Regional Industrial Organiser for the Transport and General Workers Union, Bernard Moffatt (pictured), says it's the latest move in what's becoming a long running dispute over a claim for restructuring and review of pay for airport firefighters.

This dates back to November 2004.

He says the firefighters patience is now exhausted but even now their action is hardly draconian (audio file attached):
