Call for improved telephone coverage at beauty spot

by isleofman.com 4th September 2006
A Port Erin man who was injured while mountain-biking in the Sound has raised concerns over the lack of telephone facilities in the area. Michel Morley was unable to call for medical assistance after twisiting his knee, as there's no Pronto coverage in the vicinity. And he was shocked to discover no public telephone at the Sound Visitor Centre. Manx Telecom admits the lack of coverage has been a problem for a number of years. James Davis reports (audio file attached): (Picture: The Sound, at the southern tip of the Isle of Man, and the Calf of Man, from manxscenes.com).
