IDcards for the Isle of Man?

UK-style biometric ID cards will not be introduced in the Isle of Man without proper debate.

That is the official line, coming from the Chief Secretary's Office.

Concerns have been raised over whether cards could now be brought in after the Isle of Man was included in the United Kingdom's 2006 ID Cards Act.

Director of Policy at the Chief Secretary's Office, John Collister, said this is normal procedure and doesn't necessarily mean that Manx legislation will be introduced: (first audio clip)

But Celtic League Secretary General Bernard Moffatt (pictured) fears standard legislative procedure may be sidestepped in a bid to make ID cards compulsary:
