Immigration Office 'completely satisfied' with court case conclusion

The Immigration Office is expressing complete satisfied with the outcome of a court case.

Earlier today, a businessman who brought five South African workers to the island was jailed for three months.

It was claimed that Pieter Van Rooyen (pictured) paid the men as little as ?1.36 an hour, while they worked on his Onchan home.

Van Rooyen admitted providing false documents to get them through immigration.

In a statement, the Immigration Office says the case demonstrates the 'need for vigilance and the prompt and proper prosecution of anyone found to have committed such offences'.
