Island in Microsoft IT project

The Isle of Man is taking part in a pioneering IT project in conjunction with software giant Microsoft. Nine United Kingdom councils, the Isle of Man and Microsoft have announced the launch of the Shared Learning Group. The group will provide a meeting place to discuss best practice and develop new ways to improve services and efficiency. As well as the Island, members include councils in Bromley, Newham, Derby, Lewisham, Rotherham, Sunderland, Wakefield and Warwick. Initially, the Group will focus its efforts around employee productivity, business integration, child protection, performance management, identity management, and IT support.
