Smokebusters bust...

As the debate over proposals to ban smoking from public places, including pubs and clubs, gathers pace, an anti-smoking organisation has lost its puff.

Smokebusters was formed eight years ago to promote a number of child-friendly smoking prevention initiatives to thousands of Island school children.

However, the charity is dissolving due to a lack of financial support and volunteers.

Former chairman of the trustees, Andrew Jessop (pictured), says while it’s disappointing, much of the organisation’s work is continuing on a more mainstream basis:
