by isleofman.com 8th March 2006
A man who was seen dragging a woman along the road has appeared in court.

Michael John Kewley, 25, of Springfield Avenue, Douglas, admitted provoking behaviour. . . and had his sentence adjourned by magistrates.

Police attended Castle Drive, Douglas, at 12.50am on February 12th, following a 999 call from a witness who said they had seen a woman being dragged along the road by a man who was threatening violence towards her.

Kewley ran off when police arrived.

They found the woman clearly upset and distressed, with blood on her clothing.

Police were told that they had argued outside a nightclub because Kewley was refused entry. He was arrested later that day.

He said he been drinking, but he denied that he caused her injuries.

Kewley was bailed until March 29th
