Gas masks for toddlers

Gas masks are being used to promote the dangers of exposing children to second hand smoke.

As part of a drive to raise awareness on National No Smoking Day, the Health Promotion team have handed out the gas mask shaped leaflets to nursery school children.

The idea is to give parents and carers an idea of the risks youngsters face when they inhale cigarette smoke.

These include cot death, glue ear and asthma.

Chairman of the Isle of Man Asthma Association, David Saunders, says the illness is a huge problem over here:
