Eastern Airways head south from March 6th

A new air service to Southampton, which is being launched today (6 March) by Eastern Airways will, in a months time, become a seven day a week service. Saturday flights will be introduced on Saturdays from April 1st. From today there are flights on weekdays and on Sundays. The Saturday service comes in for the start of the summer season. Eastern say the route is aimed at the finance and insurance sectors industries, as well as for maritime businesses heading for the major southern port. It also gives another option for those heading to Southampton for onward cruises. On the 70 minute route will be a 29 seat Jetstream 41 aircraft. The new Saturday service will leave the Isle of Man at 0740 arriving into Southampton at 0850. The return service will depart Southampton at 9.20am and land in the Isle of Man at 10.30am. On line web fares start from ?99 return, including taxes and charges.The airline offers a complimentary bar, including champagne. Interestingly that was one feature that was promised by the AlphaOne airline, which was due to fly to Southampton but has been on hold since operating a few flights to Edinburgh.
