Douglas are Moore the Merrier

by Isle of Man Listing Owner 4th March 2006
Douglas were Moore the Merrier after an exciting 34-25 victory over Moore in EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Three on Saturday. In the only rugby fixture to survive the weather, the home team made an excellent start with a Pete Moorhouse try, converted by skipper Dave Wood. Andy Malpass then added a second try, again converted by Wood, to put Douglas firmly in command. A further try from Gwyn Davies ensured they led 19-8 at the break. Moore pulled the score back to 19-15 immediately after the re-start but a try from man of the match John Ledgwidge, once again converted by Wood, who then scored a penalty, pulled Douglas clear once more before Matty Dyson sealed victory with another try – yet again successfully converted by the influential Wood – to round off a successful day for Douglas.
