Coldest night

by Isle of Man Listing Owner 3rd March 2006
Last night (Thurs) was the coldest March night on the Island in 20 years.

Temperatures dropped to minus 4 at the airport and minus 5 over higher ground

There have been heavy wintry showers around Andeas and Ramsey this morning, and showers have now spread south.

The Andreas to Ramsey road was said to be very icy early today and best avoided, and the Mountain Road is now closed between Creg ny Baa and Ramsey Hairpin. Police say the weather has deteriorated quite badly in the north and the Peel to Douglas and Sulby Roads are especially bad.

Neil Young from the Met Office says more wintry showers are likely in all parts of the Island this afternoon (Fri):
Friday 3rd, March 2006 05:00pm.
