Bright conditions for Manx Harriers Open meet

It was the Manx Harriers Open meeting on Saturday at the NSC. The Manx Open Junior Mile was won by Sinead Kaneen of Manx Harriers, and she was followed home by team mates Adam Cowin and Terence George. The 5K walk was won by Lauren Whelan from Manx Harriers, with Chris Ball of Steyning AC in England second. Nick Ball of Steyning AC won the 10k walk from Micheal Doyle of Cushinstown AC in Ireland. Ben Wears of Redcar in England was third, with the first Manx finisher, Marie Latham in 7th- the second lady home overall. Both Manx hopefuls Sean Hands and Carolyn Brown failed to finish the race. The 20k race was won by Colin Griffin of Ballinamore AC of Ireland, who was disqualified from the event last year. Second to him was Jamie Costin of West Waterford and Steve Partington of Manx Harriers. It was a Manx Harriers 1-2-3 in the 10k run, with Mike Garrett winning, Murray Lambden was second and Nigel Armstrong third. Team mate Natalie Wood was 1st lady home, from Eve Wengradt and Sarah Nelson.
