Police confirm a body was found in River Douglas yesterday

Police have confirmed that they are investigating the death of a 52 local man who was found in the River Douglas opposite Leigh Terrace yesterday evening (Tuesday 4th December).
 
At this time the matter is not being treated as suspicious. 
 
Isle of Man Coastguard Line Rescue Service are thanked for their support in recovery of the deceased and a search of the river.
 
Police also thank the public for their understanding and patience following the road closure of Bridge Road during the busy period of normal office closing time.
 
Formal identification has yet to be conducted.
 
The Coroner of Inquests has been informed.
