Silverline to help Island pensioners

by isleofman.com 4th December 2012

A new 24-hour helpline service for the elderly in the Isle of Man has been officially launched.

TV presenter Esther Rantzen fronts Silverline, which aims to provide a helpline in the same way in which ChildLine works for young people.

The Isle of Man has been chosen alongside Manchester to pilot the scheme before next summer's national launch.

Mrs Rantzen hopes the service will improve the quality of people's lives.
