by isleofman.com 5th December 2012

This year the staff at one of the Island’s leading IT firms, TechCentre (along with a few friends) took part in Movember. During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

TechCentre participates in many charitable efforts each and every year, though this is the first Movember campaign. David Keating, Managing Director of TechCentre states “Movember was perfect  as we always love a group challenge, especially when there's some healthy competition and a touch of humiliation thrown in! Most importantly however, we're raising money and awareness for a great cause!"

It’s been a busy month of fundraising for the ‘Mo Bros’ and token ‘Mo Sista’ Mandy, raising a total of ?1600. Also at the time of going to press the TechCentre team are 8th in the ‘UK Technology Challenge’ a Movember money raising challenge between all the UK technology based teams.

The guys are looking forward to being clean shaven again but would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported them throughout the month and helped raise such an impressive total. To see more pictures and to find out more about the campaign visit www.techcentre.co.im.
