Contingency plans on railway in case of bus strike

by isleofman.com 7th December 2012

A temporary platform is being prepared on the Steam railway line as a contingency in case of any possible bus strike.

The structure is at School Hill on the Southern 100 course, close to Castle Rushen High School.

It would be used in the event of any industrial action by bus drivers.

Director of Public Transport Ian Longworth says work only started yesterday (Thurs)

Drivers are currently being balloted on strike action. The result is due next Wednesday.
