Delay to fees debate will aid understanding of situation

by isleofman.com 8th December 2012

The Chief Minister hopes a delay to the tuition fees debate will give politicians a more rounded understanding of the position.

Politicians were next week due to vote on proposals where students would have to pay at least ?2,500 per year towards their university fees from next September.

However, the issue has been deferred until January after members of the public and a number of MHKs voiced concerns.

Allan Bell says government was happy to consider a request for more time.
