by isleofman.com 10th December 2012

The chairman of the Isle of Man Astronomical Society says Sir Patrick Moore will be forever remembered as the voice of the space age.

Tributes have flowed in for the astronomer since his death yesterday (Sunday) aged 89.

The monocled stargazer was considered the ‘father of astronomy’ and was also patron of the Society, whose chairman is Howard Parkin.
