A new Island-wide gas tariff comes into force from 1st January next year.
It follows the completion of the two year natural gas conversion scheme and brings to an end a disparity in pricing for different types of gas.
Until now, gas bills have been a postcode lottery, with households in areas using LPG and 'towns' gas paying considerably more than those on natural gas.
The new tariff will bring the per-unit price of gas down for more than 9,000 households, but will mean a rise of more than 3 per cent for existing natural gas customers.
Manx Gas managing director Tony Nicholls says it's a levelling exercise which will help pay for the conversion project:
