Flybe to suspend Luton service in new year

by isleofman.com 11th December 2012

Flybe has confirmed it's to suspend its Luton service after Christmas due to falling demand.

The company says it's a temporary suspension and flights to Luton will resume at the end of March.

In a statement the operator says like other airlines, it offers fewer services in the winter months when passenger demand is at its lowest, and has halted its Isle of Man-Luton flights as many passengers are content to fly to London Gatwick.

The last departure to Luton from the Island will be on January 8th, resuming on 25th March as part of Flybe's 2013 summer programme.

Last month Manx2 announced plans to withdraw its services to Leeds-Bradford and Oxford for the first quarter of next year, due to a seasonal drop in demand. A decision on re instating them will be made in the spring.
