Ramsey’s Santa Trail - the focal point of the town’s special Christmas shopping and entertainment day on Sunday 9th December – has proved an unqualified success.
The trail attracted crowds in their hundreds to track down the 12 Days of Christmas clues hidden in shop windows around the town in order to win a share of ?1200 of prizes sponsored by local businesses.
Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Captain Nigel Malpass said: ‘Ramsey was in fine festive form on Sunday December 9th thanks to the efforts of many local businesses and traders. I congratulate Ramsey Chamber of Commerce for their commitment and vision to create a memorable event that brought a renewed sense of vibrancy to the town. The afternoon proved a truly successful community occasion and demonstrated there’s clearly a collective desire for Ramsey to regain its role as a prime shopping and entertainment destination.’
Included in the Santa Trail family prize fund were vouchers redeemable in Ramsey stores and businesses. Heidi Morris was awarded first prize (?400 voucher), Zoe Chestnut second prize (?200 voucher) and Michelle Draper third prize, (?150 voucher).
Under 16s prize funds (a ?50 Ramsey business voucher for each winner) went to Ben Bell, eight, Georgia Keggin, nine, Charlotte Kennish, 12, Natalie Sewell, nine and Nadine Walton, 10.
Additionally, spot prizes were awarded to Emma Kinrade and Josh Kewley, both aged six.
