Memorial garden for murdered police women opens

by isleofman.com 13th December 2012

A memorial garden will be unveiled later today (13 December) in honour of former Port St Mary woman Fiona Bone and her colleague in Greater Manchester police.

PC Bone and PC Nicola Hughes were killed in a gun and grenade attack in the city in September when they responded to a report of a burglary.

The garden at Hyde police station has been created following donations from members of the local community, Manchester businesses and police partners.

Fiona was educated in the sixth form of Castle Rushen High School and her parents still live in the Island.
