Charity raises concern for Island's homeless

Homelessness is a problem on the Island and in the run-up to Christmas, things are getting worse.

That's according to Joanna Chapman, project manager at Kemmyrk the Manx homeless charity based in Douglas.

The charity has helped 55 people find accommodation in November and December and has handled 700 cases since May 2009.

Joanna says many people are unaware of the Island's problem, but she says there are real issues for a significant number of people without a permanent roof over their heads:
