PSM lifeboat called to help stricken tug

by isleofman.com 13th December 2012

Port St Mary lifeboat came to the aid of a tug with six people on board last night (12 December).

Crews were called out at 9pm after the 100 ft boat, travelling from Greenock in Scotland to Falmouth in Cornwall, lost the power of one of its engines.

Unsure which Manx port to head to, the crew called the coastguard and requested the lifeboat be launched.

The Juliet Bride was initially escorted to Port Erin harbour but was unable to anchor there and proceeded instead under tow to Peel, arriving in the western port in the early hours of Thursday.
