by isleofman.com 13th December 2012

The latest Tynwald Annual Report is now available. The report has been produced in a new format and covers the first full parliamentary year since the general election in 2011. It details new legislation, developments in parliamentary systems and procedures, features some of the many distinguished guests who have been welcomed to the Legislative Buildings and offers a summary of the events and activities that have contributed to positioning Tynwald at the heart of Manx life and promoting the Manx parliament to the wider world.

President of Tynwald, Clare Christian MLC said: ‘The Tynwald Annual Report offers a valuable insight into Tynwald’s role locally and internationally and its important contribution to parliamentary democracy among other Commonwealth nations, against a background of political and economic change at home and abroad.’

Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan SHK added: ‘The report makes for absorbing reading and illustrates to great effect the work of Tynwald, how it is embracing advances in technology and the positive efforts being achieved to contain costs while delivering enhanced levels of service.’
