Crowe's Christmas number one campaign gathers momentum

by isleofman.com 13th December 2012

Momentum is building behind a campaign to propel a local singer/songwriter to the Christmas number one slot.

Onchan woman Katherine Crowe, who's terminally ill with cancer, is hoping people in the Isle of Man, and further afield, will back her bid to top the charts.

She’s just returned from Abbey Road where she recorded a version of the standard ‘Smile’ with the London Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra to raise funds for research into alternative cancer treatments.

Social media has been abuzz with news of the song for a little while now, and campaigns have been mounted via Facebook and Twitter to get it to number one.

The mother-of-two told MTTV the dream of a hit is helping her cope with her worsening condition: (play audio)

Katherine will be on Alex In the Afternoon on Manx Radio tomorrow afternoon.

The single will be available to download from itunes from tomorrow.
