Fire Service attend overturned vehicle

by isleofman.com 14th December 2012
Yesterday, 13th December, Fire crews from Douglas and Peel Station were dispatched by the Emergency Joint Control Room to a report of a Serious Road Traffic Collision at St Patricks Chair Garth, where all reports lead to believe a car had overturned and had come to rest on its roof in a river.

At the time of call it was unknown how many persons were in the car due to the severity of the embankment which it had rolled down.

The single male occupant managed to release himself from the vehicle and scramble to safety with minor injuries, he then telephoned the emergency services to tell them he had freed himself.

Upon arrival Douglas Fire Crews made safe the vehicle by the isolation of electrical systems, thus preventing any fires within the vehicle.
