Police appeal after assault on Promenade

At around 3am on Saturday 15th December 2012, an incident occurred on Loch Promenade near to the junction of Walpole Avenue where a man was assaulted and has received head injuries. He is currently being treated at Nobles hospital for his injuries and is in a serious condition.

Inspector Mark Newey said, “This is a very serious incident where a man has received significant injuries and I would like any witnesses that were in the vicinity around this time to come forward and help the Police with their on-going enquiries. The Police understand that a man involved in this incident was picked up from that location by an unknown vehicle just after the incident and I am looking for the driver of that vehicle to come forward as well.

The matter is being investigated by Officers from across the Constabulary, led by detectives from the criminal investigations department.”
