Attack accused remanded

A 17 year-old Douglas man has been remanded in custody after an incident which has left a Peel man fighting for his life.

Liam Priestnal of Lheannag Park is accused of causing grievous bodily harm in an attack on 33 year-old Darryl McGeowan.

Father-of-three Mr McGeowan remains in a critical but stable condition at Walton Neurological Hospital in Liverpool.

Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes remanded Mr Priestnal in custody until Friday (December 21).

The court heard the defendant had no previous convictions and a further bail application wil be heard later in the week.
