Lewin sentenced to three and a half years custody

A Crosby man convicted of election fraud has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison.

The jail term was handed down to Charles Lewin at Douglas courthouse this afternoon (Tues)

Lewin, 57, admitted three counts of election fraud.

Douglas women Gail Corrin and Kerry Rothwell who had been found guilty of manipulating the proxy voting system, following a six-week trial each received an eighteen month sentence, suspended for two years.

The charges relate to the 2010 Douglas East by-election when Lewin was the campaign manager for one of the candidates, celebrity chef Kevin Woodford.
