Sean Drewry (14) was away playing at the Wirral tennis centre two weeks ago and gained some good results. In U14 he beat Adam Warner 4/1 4/0 in the QF, his SF result was a 4/0, 4/2 win over Matty Hodgson then in a close Final he lost 4/1,1/4 (CT10-3) to the number one seed. On the Sunday in U16 ‘s his results were: QF bt Robert Mackenzie number two seed 4/0 4/2; SF was another very close match which he won 1/4, 4/2 (CT13-11). In the final he lost4/1 4/0 to number one seed Matthew Sharp in which all but one game went to deuce. This is excellent match experience for Sean, a year 10 pupil at QE11 High School, Peel who allow him time off school to compete at UK events.
