Whitley warning over pay

by isleofman.com 20th December 2012

Don’t be under any illusions!

That’s the message to the Island’s public sector workforce in a pre-2013 warning over pay.

Alf Cannan, the chairman of the employers side of the Whitley Council, was speaking after the body agreed a pay settlement for the current financial year for manual workers.

They’ll receive a one-off non pensionable payment of ?400 in their January wages.

However, Mr Cannan expects negotiations over the next pay settlement to be much tougher.
