Police out in force for busy night at pubs

by isleofman.com 21st December 2012

Police will be out in force in Douglas and towns around the Island tonight (Fri 21 Dec) for what's expected to be one of the busiest of the year in bars, pubs and clubs.

Many offices and work places will close today for the Christmas break and with staff receiving their pay packets early this month, large crowds are expected to be out celebrating.

The last Friday before Christmas is always busy in town centres and police chiefs say extra officers will be on the streets to deal with any problems.

Mark Britton of the Central Neighbourhood Policing Team says the aim is to keep people safe - so trouble-makers beware!
